Job Description
This summer internship develops methods for field surveying without Trimble GPS using software like Deswik, RPM, ArcGIS, or Google Earth to stake designs at 1-3 feet accuracy. It supports mining operations extracting 50,000 tons daily at sites like Kings Mountain, enhancing safety and efficiency for mineral production serving global markets. The project builds SOPs for contractors, reducing survey support shortages in specialty segments.

A challenge is creating reliable alternatives to GPS in varied terrain while ensuring precision for control line marking.

Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in relevant field, e.g., Mining Engineering, BSEnvironmental, Geology etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Authorized to Work in the U.S.
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check
