Indiana University Health

Imaging Services Supervisor

Healthcare Administrator Full Time ~ $60,000 - $85,000/yr
West Lafayette, Indiana, United States

Job Description

Patients rely on accurate imaging to diagnose conditions from fractures to cancers, and this role coordinates advanced modalities like CT scans and MRIs to ensure timely, precise results. Supervisors plan daily workflows for teams of technologists performing procedures in equipment-laden suites. Indiana University Health operates 16 hospitals across Indiana with over 34,000 team members, providing specialized care in heart, cancer, and orthopedics through advanced diagnostics and patient-centered services.

Daily tasks include directing staff in CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, cardiovascular labs, and interventional radiology. Workers follow ACR and IAC protocols for accreditation, using ARRT, ARDMS, or CCI certifications while documenting in proprietary systems. Collaboration with directors involves troubleshooting compliance issues, with occasional extended hours during peak demand. Reports track quality metrics and accreditations under federal FDA rules for mammography.

Positions offer full-time hours at Arnett Hospital without weekends, but shifts may flex from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Basic Life Support certification through AHA is required, along with state health department licenses per modality. Professional development includes advanced credentialing options, though some interventional roles exclude this. Unique aspects involve hands-on equipment maneuvering for improved positioning in dynamic patient situations.
