Job Description
Dishwashers operate commercial dishmachines at Bob Evans Restaurants, loading plates from breakfast trays into racks. They maintain water temperatures at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for sanitizing, preventing cross-contamination on tablesettings. Roles pay up to $15 per hour, with tasks like wiping steam tables clean using microfiber cloths. Sorts silverware into bins for fast retrieval.
Bob Evans Restaurants prepare farm-fresh dishes like biscuits and gravy in dedicated kitchens. The company updates procedures per CDC guidelines for safety.
Workers rinse grease from pots in sinks, filling soap dispensers before shifts. Empty trash bags from kitchen cans, tying knots to prevent spills. Sweep parking lot debris like wrappers into barrels. Maintain external areas by hosing porch mats, cleaning sidewalks with brooms. Assist servers by bussing tables when volume peaks. Use drain cleaner for blocked sinks. Report broken handles on mop buckets. Interact with cooks to receive soiled pans immediately.

Responsibilities
- Maintain dish tank area and ensure cleaned dishes available for service
- Follow food safety guidelines for washing, drying, storing dishware and utensils
- Remove cardboard and grease, maintain cleanliness of parking lot
- Maintain cleanliness of property around restaurant including foyer, porch, sidewalk
- Empty trash from designated areas throughout shift
- Work with other staff to ensure 100% guest satisfaction regarding dining room cleanliness
- May assist in other job categories
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 0-2 years related experience
- Strong knowledge of restaurant concepts and procedures
- Judgment for goal accomplishment
- General knowledge of commercial dishwashing preferred but not required
- High degree of pace and intensity, strong menu knowledge
- Ability to read, organize, coordinate tickets
- Dependability and exceptional teamwork
