The Senior AC/DC Rack Power Engineer designs and innovates power conversion systems for data center racks, including AC/DC rectifiers and UPS. These systems support growing computing infrastructure, delivering efficiency for machine learning workloads. Engineers model converters, troubleshoot issues, and manage projects with micro-grid designs.

Activities encompass analyzing trade-offs in cost, reliability, and performance for rack specifications. They work with tools like simulation software for converter modeling. The role involves technical leadership in complex, matrixed environments with attention to detail.
The US base salary range is $147,000-$216,000, including bonus and equity. Full-time positions include health benefits and development training. Locations vary with remote options in the US.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and design on rack and data center power conversion specifications and solutions. Analyze performance, cost, reliability and availability trade-offs
- Lead projects that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies
- Partner with power industry leaders to lead the evaluation and adoption of the most compelling technologies
- Engage cross-functionally to ensure successful roll-out, testing and complete validation
- Provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting system level power delivery issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience working in a power converter design technical environment including AC/DC, DC/DC or DC/AC converter design for data center power delivery system
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role
- Experience in power converter design, including AC/DC rectifiers, solar inverters, UPS, and variable speed drives
- Experience in data center power system design including micro-grid design
- Knowledge on power converter modeling and simulation and ability to troubleshoot field issues
- Excellent investigative, communication and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to detail, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional project teams
