Job Description
The position guides adults aged 55 and older through homelessness by connecting them to housing, employment, healthcare, and community resources. Seniors benefit from personalized support that removes barriers and fosters long-term stability in living arrangements. Core duties involve building trusting relationships, conducting assessments, and coordinating services for 11-hour daily shifts.
Central Arizona Shelter Services focuses on supporting seniors in Phoenix through a dedicated shelter called The Haven. The organization works with adults 55+ to provide dignified, respectful care and resources like food, medical aid, and legal assistance. Teams handle thousands of cases annually, emphasizing compassion in fast-paced environments.
Activities include collaborating with a dedicated team to deliver timely services, removing barriers through advocacy, and connecting clients to long-term housing options via local agencies. Professionals lead workshops on life skills, conduct assessments as part of street outreach, and manage client records in systems like HMIS. A key constraint is the emotional demands of handling unstable situations with adults facing addiction or trauma, requiring resilience.
Compensation information is not specified in the posting. The schedule runs from 7 AM to 6 PM. Benefits include opportunities for career advancement and work-life balance through flexible hours. Professional development covers on-the-job training and continuation of education programs. Community support roles emphasize advocacy without direct monetary details.
