This role sells pre-need and at-need funeral services, cemetery property, and merchandise to families during selections. Clients benefit from guided decisions on memorials that honor legacies with emotional support. Counselors use telephones, CRM systems, and vehicles to prospect leads and schedule appointments.

Everstory Partners manages cemeteries and funeral homes in the Midwest, providing compassionate support for grief processes. The company operates over 40 locations with a focus on personalized memorial experiences. It generates leads through referrals, communities, and staff team support.

Counselors attend services with families, explaining options like caskets and headstones. They prospect via phone calls and in-person visits, tracking in databases like Salesforce. Work requires traveling with reimbursement for miles, inputting data in Excel and Outlook. Schedules include evenings, weekends, holidays due to event demands. One constraint is maintaining confidentiality for sensitive client information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional education in business, marketing, or sales preferred
  • 1 year of sales experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Access to personal vehicle
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience working in a CRM
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends
