Architects evaluate projects for alignment with enterprise standards including TOGAF frameworks on domains like FHIR and HL7, develop roadmaps, create diagrams using tools like Visio, mentor teams on architectural thinking, assess technologies via NIST and HIPAA, collaborate with leaders for secure solutions, and serve as internal consultants.
The hybrid role in Chicago offers pay from $40 to $60 per hour, with variations based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate projects for alignment with enterprise/HIS standards, define requirements
- Develop, maintain architecture frameworks across application, data, infrastructure, integration, security domains
- Monitor initiatives for compliance, provide guidance and corrections
- Integrate risk management, compliance, cybersecurity into architecture decisions
- Create diagrams, blueprints, roadmaps using Visio and scripts for implementation guidance
- Establish governance, standardization, lifecycle management for scalable services
- Position architecture as internal consultancy, communicate value to stakeholders
- Mentor technical teams and leaders on adopting standards
- Assess emerging technologies, inform strategy and priorities
- Collaborate with IT, business leaders for interoperable solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 10+ years supporting enterprise technology solutions
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF, Azure Cloud Adoption Framework
- Technical breadth across cloud, infrastructure, automation using Java, C#, Python, PowerShell
- Knowledge of SDLC, Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, scripting languages
- Understanding of cybersecurity standards like NIST, HIPAA, HITRUST for guideline implementation
- Familiarity with healthcare standards like FHIR, HL7 preferred
- Project management in large healthcare systems preferred
