Job Description
This role operates machinery to produce nutritional feed pellets, crumbs, and meal for livestock, packaged in bags, totes, and delivered in bulk. Farmers benefit from custom feeds that support animal health and productivity in agriculture. Technicians use control panels, scales, and mixers to combine ingredients like grains and supplements.
New Vision Co Op distributes agricultural products including seeds, fertilizers, and feed in rural Minnesota communities. The cooperative serves thousands of farmers with supplies for crop and livestock production. It focuses on quality products and member support in the agricultural sector.
Technicians monitor the micro bin system for ingredient inventory, input weights into mixing schedules, and load materials into hoppers. They perform routine maintenance on pellet mills and packaging lines, inspecting belts and valves for wear. Work includes sweeping floors in dusty areas up to 15 feet high, requiring climbing ladders and lifting 60 pounds. Collaboration occurs with team members on feed orders and recordkeeping in software. One challenge is adhering to regulatory standards for feed safety to avoid contamination.
Compensation includes competitive wages with profit sharing and 401k matched at 6%. Full-time roles offer health, dental, vision, life, disability, plus HSA and FSA. Responsibilities
- Operate the control panel and feed load out
- Weigh and hand add ingredients to match the mixing schedule
- Monitor ingredient inventory in micro bin system
- Assist with routine machine maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility
- Comply with regulatory and company policies and perform accurate recordkeeping
- Assist team members in other areas as needed
