Job Description

Patients with spine-related conditions access coordinated care from registered nurses specializing in surgical triage and education. Registered nurses handle clinic-style telephone triage, manage MyChart communications, and provide education on spine treatments. They contribute to multidisciplinary teams focused on surgery, orthopedics, and rehabilitation medicine.

Routine responsibilities involve performing triage for spine surgery patients via phone and electronic channels, coordinating care, and educating families. Nurses interact with a team specializing in Spine and Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, and Rehab Medicine using MyChart systems. Work occurs at East Madison Hospital and 1 S. Park St. Clinic in Madison, following operational hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. A challenge includes adapting to varying department needs while maintaining patient-centered care.

Full-time 100% FTE on day shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Located at East Madison Hospital and 1 S. Park St. Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. Responsibilities

  • Perform clinic-style telephone and MyChart triage, care coordination, as well as engage in patient/family education
  • Be part of a team of staff specializing in Spine and Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma, and Rehab Medicine

Requirements

  • Graduate of school of nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • 6 months of RN experience Required
  • Relevant RN experience Preferred
  • Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
  • Applicable clinical certification Preferred
