Job Description
This role manages daily operations at an Arby's restaurant, where the manager ensures customers receive sandwiches and meals that satisfy hunger quickly during busy lunch and dinner rushes. Managers oversee staff to handle orders efficiently, resolving issues when long lines form or items run out. They focus on maintaining high customer satisfaction by training employees on food preparation and service standards.
DRM Arby's operates a chain of fast-food restaurants specializing in roast beef sandwiches, curly fries, and other American-style meals served in family-friendly locations across the United States.
Daily activities include creating weekly staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours from 11 AM to 2 PM. Managers hire new team members, conduct coaching sessions for underperforming employees, and participate in inventory ordering to keep ingredients like ground beef and seasonings stocked. They follow food safety guidelines to inspect kitchen equipment and maintain clean dining areas, while adapting to sudden customer complaints by helping diffuse conflicts calmly. Work often involves lifting boxes up to 50 pounds for restocking, with challenges arising from short staffing during unexpected absences or high-demand periods.
Compensation is discussed during the hiring process, with roles typically offering flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Work occurs primarily in restaurant locations, sometimes requiring travel for training. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, long-term and short-term disability coverage, paid time off, bonus opportunities, a 401(k) plan, employee referral bonuses, and a years-of-service program. Employees wear comfortable attire such as jeans, enjoy free and discounted meals, and access free leadership development curriculum for career advancement.
