Housekeepers maintain cleanliness in staff areas at snack manufacturing facilities, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for production workers. Daily tasks include emptying trash from lunchrooms and breakrooms, laundering protective frocks, and taking inventory of cleaning materials. This role prevents contamination risks and supports compliance with food safety standards. Work occurs in plant settings with exposure to machinery and varying temperatures.

Staff clean floors, walls, windows, lunchrooms, and bathrooms using chemicals, floor scrubbing machines, clothes washers, and dryers. Interaction involves working with supervisors and peers to suggest improvements and enhance support activities. A constraint includes lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods in a plant environment with slippery floors. Tasks vary based on situations.
The starting hourly rate is $13.50 to $18.57, depending on experience and location. The position is in manufacturing facilities, with full-time hours that may include weekends or shifts. Physical demands require standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Clean all staff areas
- Take out garbage within the lunchroom and breakroom areas
- Wash and dry the frocks worn on the plant floor each day
- Take inventory of cleaning supplies
- Proper use of cleaning chemicals
- Operate a floor scrubbing machine
- Operate clothes washer
- Operate clothes dryer
- Properly clean floors, walls, windows, lunchroom, and bathrooms
- Properly fold clean frocks
- Manage start-up to make sure equipment is in proper operating condition
- Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals
- Ensure product conforms to specifications
- Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition
- Monitor workflow to maximize machine output efficiencies
- Keep accurate records of products produced and materials used
- Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities
- Tasks will vary as situations and demands change, assigned by supervisor

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Prior Housekeeping experience preferred
- Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment
- Able to read and write legibly
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Perform with little supervision
