Greeting donors, performing venipunctures, and programming plasmapheresis machines generates high-quality plasma for developing medicines that treat rare diseases. This training-enabled position monitors donors during sessions and manages reactions to ensure safe collections. It plays a key role in the supply chain for vital medical products.

Tasks encompass greeting donors upon entry and exit, performing venipunctures, programming machines, monitoring during donation, managing reactions, setting up equipment for plasmapheresis, installing disposable sets, recording pulse, blood pressure, temperature, conducting finger sticks, entering data into system, coordinating donors, and compensating via Debit Card. Employs 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen for improvements. Engages with Plasma Center Manager, coworkers for troubleshooting, and donors for feedback. Physical constraints include walking all shift, lifting 5-50 pounds occasionally, bending, and 90% task glove wear for pathogen protection.
Hourly wage begins at $17, with part-time hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in West Des Moines, Iowa. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and stand for entire work shift
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch
- 1 or more years experience in customer or patient facing role preferred
