This job sorts and prepares donated items for resale to support charitable operations. Associates inspect merchandise, tag clothing, and move goods through processing to increase store efficiency. The role contributes to weekly production goals, helping fund community assistance programs.
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas manages TurnStyles thrift stores. Operating since 1980, the organization provides social services using donations to assist families across regional parishes.
Activities include testing electronics, hanging and folding clothes at 80 pieces per hour, ensuring safe merchandise placement, and maintaining organized bays using trucks and carts. Interactions with volunteers, donors, and supervisors occur regularly. A limitation includes lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly in a fast-paced warehouse with temperature fluctuations and chemical exposure.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, and tag merchandise
- Sort and process clothing and hard goods

Requirements
- High school graduate
- College graduate preferred
- Effective communication and motivation skills
- Strong customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail or thrift operations preferred
- Proficient computer knowledge
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
- Completion of VIRTUS training and background screening
- Drug testing and ongoing training
