Job Description

Beverage manufacturers access mobile canning services through the role of transporting and setting up equipment. The position operates packaging lines for breweries and wineries by ensuring Clean-In-Place procedures, troubleshooting labelers and date coders, and maintaining machinery. This setup allows craft beer enthusiasts to enter production roles with hands-on training.

Iron Heart Canning leads in mobile beverage canning with warehouses across 27 states. The company provides onsite support for breweries, wineries, and other beverage manufacturers. Focus remains on operational excellence and quality for craft beer production.

Work entails transporting heavy equipment in box trucks for onsite runs at brewery locations. Mix chemicals for sanitation and perform consistent quality checks on canning lines. Set up and troubleshoot labelers and date coders, then operate packaging machinery safely. Collaborate with technicians and brewery staff while repairing equipment. Challenge includes physical demands like pulling 150-lb pallets and standing for 8-12-hour shifts with mandatory lunch breaks.

Full-time role starts at $20 per hour with benefits available. Schedule varies weekly based on brewery demands, often with long hours from 7am onwards including weekends and overnight stays. Responsibilities

  • Transport and set up/take down heavy equipment in box truck
  • Perform chemical mixing and sanitation procedures
  • Set up and troubleshoot labeler and date coder
  • Conduct consistent quality checks
  • Keep equipment clean and up to Iron Heart standards
  • Understand company policies and rules
  • Collaborate with technicians and brewery staff
  • Operate heavy packaging machinery safely and efficiently
  • Repair and maintain packaging machinery
  • Participate in mandatory lunch breaks
  • Operate independently and manage jobsites
  • Provide direction to onsite technicians
  • Handle customer interactions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of mechanics
  • Ability to learn onsite
  • Multitasking skills
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull up to 800 pounds on wheels
  • One year packing machine operator experience preferred
  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • Home brewing experience preferred
