Job Description
This role distributes supplies and equipment to hospital departments, preventing delays in care that could affect patient outcomes. The distribution technician handles materials and freight for the Southwest Washington Region, delivering bulk orders to departments and agencies while following hospital policies. Work includes managing receipts, regulating equipment, and ensuring accurate records of all deliveries.
Providence operates over 50 hospitals and 1,000 clinics across Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, with 120,000 caregivers providing health and social services. The organization focuses on patient-centered care and supports the most vulnerable communities for over 100 years.
Day-to-day activities involve inventorying par carts, restocking shelves in the distribution center and surgery areas, and performing duties in the receiving and distribution centers. The technician uses computer-assisted inventory systems, manages shipping functions, and maintains cleanliness in supply areas, unit storage, and work spaces. Interactions occur with user departments and outside agencies. A key challenge is coordinating bulk deliveries while adhering to prescribed procedures without disrupting hospital operations.
Compensation ranges are determined based on relevant job experience and applicable factors, with base pay and potential additional elements like shift differentials or bonuses. Work occurs at Providence St. Peter Hospital, with arrangements not specified. Schedule details not provided. Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with employer matching, health care plans covering medical, dental, and vision, life and disability insurance, time off for paid parental leave, vacations, holidays, and health issues, voluntary benefits, Employee Assistance Program, ORCA card subsidy, and Paid Time Off at 34 days annually.
