Engineers define design requirements for projects, prepare documents like Basis of Design and Issued for Construction, handle Requests for Information with Engineer of Record, and integrate requirements with core teams. They manage site electrical issues, resolve problems with cross-functional groups, and address design challenges in data center substations, switchgear, ATS, emergency power systems, and SCADA tools for medium and low voltage distribution.
The position offers a salary range of $144,000-$211,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits at headquarters in the United States. Work occurs onsite with potential travel. Responsibilities
- Define electrical system design requirements for data center projects, providing technical support through completion
- Manage electrical design process, develop Basis of Design and Issued for Construction documents for builds, upgrades, renovations
- Resolve site-specific Requests for Information by coordinating with Engineer of Record
- Collaborate with core engineering teams to integrate requirements into Basis of Design and coordinate schematics with Engineer of Record
- Manage site level power system issues during execution, identify and resolve issues with cross-functional teams
- Maintain all data center electrical system design requirements and interface documents
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments
- Experience in electrical infrastructure of mission critical facilities
- Professional Engineering license preferred
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields preferred
- Experience with electrical design, operation, commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems, control systems, power monitoring, protection
- Experience in design, construction, commissioning of medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems with AC/DC systems, power management, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition tools
- Experience working with data center equipment like switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems
