Job Description

Registered Behavior Technicians in Training implement ABA plans for autism and IDD students, collecting data on 10-20 interventions daily to support skill acquisition in school settings. Roles apply positive behavior strategies under BCBA guidance. Workers monitor crises using PMT de-escalation in 219-day academic calendars.

Adelbrook serves children and adolescents with ASD and IDD through embedded programs in schools and residences. Nonprofit focuses on evidence-based practices like PBIS.

Technicians follow BIP instructions for 50+ incidents weekly, entering progress in tracking systems like Excel, and conducting preference assessments. Equipment includes behavior timers and PMT techniques; collaborations involve BCBAs, educators, and caregivers for meetings. Staff substitutes in residential shifts, constrained by varying schedules and de-escalation needs during community outings.

No compensation specified. Locations center Cromwell Academy with community travel. Flexible 219-day schedules total 37.5 hours weekly plus weekends. Benefits encompass agency-approved crisis training, CPR certification, and PMT levels. Development includes supervision evaluations and competency assessments.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Current RBT certification through BACB
  • High School Diploma and ParaPro Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience with behavioral challenges
  • Experience in residential or special education settings
  • Proficiency in ABA principles and PBIS preferred
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CT regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record
  • Must complete certifications like CPR and PMT
