Job Description

The role assesses donor eligibility for plasma donation, turning high-quality plasma into life-changing medicines. Employees determine suitability through medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and SPE reviews, directly contributing to treatments for patients with rare diseases. Daily interactions with donors provide purpose by ensuring safety and producing essential biologics. Takeda takes pride in equitable compensation, with hourly wages ranging from $25.00 to $34.38, adjusted to meet state minimums. Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE
  • Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs for medical emergencies including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents determining need for occupational health or ER evaluation following EHS guidance

Requirements

  • High school diploma including graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years experience in clinical or hospital setting
