Job Description

Reliability superintendents enhance plant operations by increasing machinery uptime and process efficiency, boosting production for timber products. The role drives continuous improvements in maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life. This contributes to cost savings and stable output in manufacturing environments.

Superintendents lead reliability supervisors and technicians, training on condition monitoring, root cause analysis, preventive/predictive maintenance, and CMMS. They generate condition reports, plan outages with area managers, and implement asset strategies like maintenance plans. Analyzing processes recommends efficiencies, promote world-class concepts, and coordinate vendors. Tools include CMMS for work planning, OEM reviews, and process improvements. Managing a team remotely adds complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and training to reliability supervisors, technicians, and lubrication technicians
  • Promote reliability program practices like condition monitoring and root cause analysis
  • Foster asset lifecycle management using CMMS data
  • Provide regular asset condition reports and schedule outages
  • Use CMMS for efficient planning, reporting, and work scheduling
  • Design and implement asset management strategies
  • Manage third-party services for reliability programs
  • Analyze processes and recommend improvements to reduce downtime
  • Promote world-class manufacturing concepts like remote monitoring
  • Review OEM equipment and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate vendors for asset design and maintenance
  • Recommend and execute work process improvements
  • Train or recommend training on reliability programs

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent training/experience
  • 5+ years maintenance/reliability experience in fixed plant
  • Minimum 1 year leadership, mentoring ability
