Engineers lead the Marketing Science team to measure and optimize ad performance on the LinkedIn platform. They develop Incrementality and A/B Testing products that demonstrate advertising spend value through causal inferences. Teams prove advertiser ROI with tools for incremental value recommendations, guiding decisions for stronger LinkedIn ad investments. This role solves B2B advertisers' measurement challenges by rethinking casual proof approaches.

Engineers head software development for Incrementality Measurement and Optimization, simplifying system architecture for better performance. They productionalize new causal proof methods for marketing performance and provide insights to advertisers. Roles involve scaling experimentation infrastructure for statistical accuracy using synchronous and asynchronous designs. Engineers mentor 10 full stack developers, fostering integrity, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement in addressing marketplace balance, system reliability, and monetization.
The pay range is $147,000 to $240,000 annually. Total compensation includes annual performance bonus, stock, and benefits. Locations include Mountain View, CA, with hybrid arrangement. Responsibilities
- Define and productionalize new approaches for casual proof of marketing performance to LinkedIn clients
- Implement tools and processes that prove incremental ROI for advertisers by spending on LinkedIn
- Create actionable insights and recommendations for advertisers to improve ROI and incremental value
- Partner with the optimization team to optimize, deliver and validate incremental value
- Scale and enhance core experimentation infrastructure
- Guide the team in scaling distributed systems, making architectural trade-offs, applying asynchronous design principles
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team
- Lead and grow a team of 10 full stack engineers, supporting performance, career development, and technical growth
- Act as a role model and coach, fostering a culture of high integrity, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
- Directly drive technical collaboration with external incrementality and A/B Testing measurement providers, and large LinkedIn clients
- Collaborate with senior leadership and XFN teams to define and evolve the long-term technology vision and roadmap
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
- 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
- Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Scala/Python/C/C++ etc.)
- MS or PhD in Applied Math, Computer Science, Statistics, or related technical discipline preferred
- 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience preferred
- 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions preferred
- 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, Scala, C/C++, C#, Python, Go etc. preferred
- 3+ years of experience building Ads Measurement or Analytical products preferred
- 3+ years in experience building offline / data processing systems preferred
- 2+ years of experience driving external client and partners measurement or advanced analytics programs preferred
