Job Description

This role organizes shipments in a laboratory setting, managing receipt and dispatch of samples and materials according to regulations. Coordinators verify shipments and handle hazardous materials, supporting bioanalytical testing operations. The position ensures safe, efficient transport for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics testing.

Coordinators organize incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare documents like ARF, bills of lading, shipping orders, verify shipments, pack, seal, label. They handle hazardous materials per 49 CFR part 172, IATA Dangerous Goods, DOT regulations. Duties include recording data such as weight, charges, temperatures, damages. Work in warehouse, may involve errands, procurement. Conduct activities safely.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, onsite in Des Moines, IA. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401k with match, paid vacation, holidays. Certified in IATA Dangerous Goods, knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials. Requires high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Organize incoming and outgoing shipments including receiving, verifying, storage, record keeping
  • Prepare items for shipment: assemble, temp, code, address, stamp, ship
  • Receive, unpack, verify incoming product
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, shipping orders
  • Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Record shipment data including weight, charges, space, temperatures, damages
  • Pack, seal, label, affixe postage to prepare materials for shipping
  • Conduct activities in safe and efficient manner

Requirements

  • High School Degree, diploma, or GED
  • One to two years related experience and/or training
  • Certified in IATA Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials
  • Safe Serve certified preferred
  • Food handling and computer skills preferred
  • Ability to work in warehouse coordinating projects
