Job Description
The role develops evaluation frameworks for autonomous vehicle performance using simulation and on-road data. This ensures the Waymo Driver meets standards for safety and quality in ride-hail services. Analysts frame problems, derive conclusions, and communicate findings in hybrid roles focused on scaling.
Waymo builds the most trusted driver, completing over ten million rider-only trips. The company generates billions in simulation alongside millions of public road miles across 15 states.
Activities include creating metrics for large-scale ML models, interpreting trends and anomalies, and developing statistical methods for rare events. Collaborations with Product and Engineering facilitate deployment decisions. A constraint is handling unique AV data aspects like synthetic integrations with Python, SQL, and R libraries.
Compensation ranges from $170,000 to $216,000 USD depending on experience and location. The hybrid position reports to a DS Manager and includes annual bonuses, equity, and generous benefits programs. US locations offer variable arrangements.
