Job Description
The aide prepares and serves food for residents using safe handling techniques, ensuring meals meet dietary needs in an attractive manner. This role maintains temperatures, records logs, and delivers meals on time, supporting elderly residents' nutritional health and preferences.

Aides prepare beverages, salads, desserts using standardized recipes for regular and therapeutic diets, label and store food, wash dishes with sanitizer at required temperatures, receive supplies, operate equipment, and interact positively with residents and families. They recommend improvements and assign tasks, operating in clean environments without physical requirements beyond general care.
Starting wages are $16.85 to $19.09 per hour, including $0.85 Michigan Direct Care Incentive and $2 Perfect Attendance Bonus. Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion food for regular and therapeutic diets
- Utilize standardized recipes
- Deliver meals to designated areas on time
- Prepare proper quantities within schedules
- Maintain food temperatures and record them
- Serve meals accurately per diet orders and preferences
- Label, date, store food properly
- Record refrigerator/freezer temperatures
- Wash dishes according to procedures, record temperatures
- Keep work area clean
- Store dishes for next meal
- Assist in receiving, storing, verifying invoices
- Report inadequate stock levels
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Make recommendations for improvements
- Interact appropriately with residents, families, visitors
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Tenth grade or above desirable
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification or other state-required preferred
- Experience in food service desired
