Job Description
This position places operators in the center of diagnostics, where they use MRI scans to reveal internal abnormalities in patients ranging from infants to adults, providing physicians with detailed images that guide treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes. The role involves operating MRI equipment to capture precise scans, positioning patients correctly, and administering contrast agents under radiologist direction, ensuring the process meets high standards of accuracy and safety.

Daily tasks include performing MRI procedures according to protocols for diagnostic purposes, preparing patients and equipment, delivering care in a non-judgmental manner attentive to cultural and emotional needs, monitoring patients during scans, and using critical thinking for problem-solving. Operators use MRI machines, positioning tools, contrast delivery systems, and software for image processing. They collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and availability staff, following shift rotations at Chestnut Hill Hospital, and must handle the physical demands of moving patients or standing for extended periods.
The role offers a full-time evening schedule at Temple Health's Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities
- Demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MRI safety and medical terminology
- Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique
- Performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information
- Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist
- Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for patient care
- Remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient
- Engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, knowledge and technical competence
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Non-Degree Program from an approved AMA Radiologic Technology Program or MRI Certificate program
- General Experience Relevant Experience
- Reg Technologist (R) (MR)
- Basic Life Support
