Job Description

This supervisor oversees WIC programs for Weber-Morgan Health, planning nutrition education. Nutritionists evaluate services, train staff, and investigate abuse cases for program integrity. They support public health outcomes through collaborations.

Work includes hiring, training, and appraising nutrition staff, preparing modules for compliance. Activities involve monitoring services, planning nutrition plans, and conducting meetings with up to 25 pound lifts. Handling discipline and supervising over 10 staff creates management constraints. Responsibilities

  • Supervises nutrition staff including hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisal, and discipline
  • Prepares and oversees completion of state required modules and training for all staff
  • Provides ongoing direction, guidance, and feedback to supervised staff
  • Provides back-up support (complete nutrition appointments) to nutrition staff
  • Completes assigned program monitoring and shares in supervisors meeting, creates plan to fix issues
  • Assists in keeping appointment schedule balanced and feasible for WIC staff and participants, enters master schedule quarterly
  • Monitors and assesses nutritional services and assists in development and preparation of annual Nutrition Education Plan
  • Plans and conducts monthly in-service/staff meetings
  • Attends supervisory and committee meetings as appropriate
  • Helps maintain efficient clinic by providing support to all WIC staff
  • Provides direction and support to achieve public health outcomes
  • Assists in preparation of annual Nutrition Education Plan and State WIC Management Evaluation
  • Plans and implements corrective action and written responses to annual Management Evaluation
  • Investigates alleged program abuse by clients and issues appropriate corrective action
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
  • One year of dietetics experience in the form of an internship required for membership in the American Dietetic Association
  • Four years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in public health
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian
  • Licensed with the State of Utah as Certified Dietitian
