This position performs venipuncture on donors to collect plasma for medicines, supporting patients with rare diseases through daily interactions. Employees greet donors, program plasmapheresis machines for blood separation, and monitor reactions during donation, using systems like the Donor Information System for accurate records. Plasma collection involves installing disposable sets on machines, recording vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, hematocrit, total protein, and weight. Due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, 90% of tasks require prolonged glove wear, adding a health risk constraint. Takeda offers equitable pay with a starting hourly wage of $18.00, compliant with state minimums. Responsibilities

  • Greet donors entering and exiting donor floor
  • Perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine
  • Monitor donors during donation process and manage donor reactions
  • Handle setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within training scope
  • Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk or stand for entire work shifts
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Capacity to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders or below knees
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • One or more years minimum experience in customer-facing role
