Job Description

Maintenance technicians repair and maintain physical structures in group homes and corporate buildings, including replacing electrical switches, painting, plastering drywall, and troubleshooting equipment. They purchase materials following corporate policy and conduct monthly safety inspections. Technicians keep grounds maintained by watering lawns, planting flowers, pruning trees, raking leaves, and snow removal. They inspect vans weekly, maintain first aid kits, and participate in safety committee meetings to initiate procedural changes.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and repair structures using wood, plywood, and wallboard to local codes
  • Purchase materials and equipment per corporate policy

  • Maintain grounds by mowing lawns, planting trees, raking leaves, and snow removal
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections and participate in safety committees
  • Maintain first aid kits and inspect vans weekly
  • Arrange van maintenance and supervise residents in vocational training

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five years of maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of general maintenance practices
  • Ability to problem-solve repairs and find cost-effective solutions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with staff
  • Valid Montana Driver's License
