Customers receive reliable internet, video, and voice services from technicians installing fiber optic networks. Technicians install and repair high-speed connections, addressing wiring, equipment, and outside plant facilities to minimize downtime in rural areas.
Brightspeed delivers fast internet in 20 Midwest and South states, funded by Apollo Global Management, upgrading copper to fiber for underserved markets with emphasis on customer experience.
Technicians install and troubleshoot internet, video, voice networks wiring equipment, maintain outside plants by climbing poles, digging with shovels and picks to bury cable, accessing utility holes or controlled vaults, locating cables, observe safety rules, assist technical staff, support sales activities, and direct customer work. Physical tasks include handling 28-foot extension ladders up to 75 pounds, lifting 150-pound hole covers, working in confined spaces like attics or crawl spaces, and aloft on ladders in all weather conditions.
Positions require high school diploma or equivalent, ability to distinguish colors, complete boot camp training on POTS/DSL, cable splicing, transmissions, air pressure, HSI installations, basic MS Office skills, and valid driver's license with satisfactory record for field work. Pay is competitive with shifts including mandatory overtime, weekends, holidays.
