Job Description

The paramedic evaluates donor eligibility for plasma donations, crafting life-changing medicines for those with rare diseases. Roles involve informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion management, medical interviews, exams, blood draws, SPE reviews, and reaction assessments using SOPs for emergencies. Guidance comes from Center Manager for operations and Center Physician for medicine, with pandemic coordination authorized by EHS. No overnight shifts promote work-life balance, but emergency transport to facilities requires rapid response. Takeda includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus, hourly wages from $25.00 to $34.38 per state laws. Benefits commence immediately, covering medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, short-term disability, long-term disability, basic life, tuition, paid volunteer hours, holidays, 80 annual sick hours, and 120 vacation hours. Full-time work is in Greenfield, Wisconsin, without overnight duties.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including consent management, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interviews, acceptance, physical examinations, blood testing, and SPE review
  • Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs for medical emergencies developing standing orders and arranging donor transport
  • Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or technical guidance on safety and eligibility
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents assessing need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER and referring per EHS

Requirements

  • High school diploma including graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed EMT-Paramedic in state of assignment
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years experience in clinical or hospital setting
