Job Description
Qualdoc employs an Electrical Drafter to create schematics and BOMs for electrical systems using SolidWorks Electrical, revising designs to meet deadlines in a manufacturing setting. This drafting role produces visual installation instructions, enabling engineers to build power components accurately for products like machinery.

Drafters prepare drawings from specifications, review them for compliance with standards, maintain revisions in project files, and participate in meetings for technical assistance. They use SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D schematics, collaborating with engineers and teams on deadlines. One challenge is multi-tasking priorities under pressure, requiring attention to detail for accuracy in schematics and electrical functions.

Responsibilities
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision
- Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from Engineers
- Work with Engineers regarding accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain all revisions of project drawings
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications
- Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
- Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in computer-aided drafting and design, engineering technology or similar technical degree
- A minimum of two years' experience
- Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes and how it relates to design
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools such as Auto CAD and Inventor preferred
- High proficiency in Solidworks Electrical
- Autocad electrical experience preferred
- Proficiency in basic electrical design / function preferred
- Ability to develop design layouts in 2D drawings (schematics)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to work under pressure with deadlines while having to multi-task multiple priorities
