Job Description
This role specializes in advanced fiber optics assembly, terminating FC and MTP configurations for 9,000 units per month in sensor products. Operations include bonding with routers at 600 joins hourly, testing with Variable Attenuators, and completing over-molding for strength. Inspections use routers to check drawings, ensuring EFG compliance on termini for reliable performance in industrial applications.

Compensation provides $26.68 hourly rate, adjustable by location, with 10% evening differential and 22% weekend premium from 6:13. Shifts run Monday to Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM, 3 PM to 11:30 PM, or Friday to Sunday 7 AM to 7:30 PM. Responsibilities
- Polish and test fiber optic cables
- Assemble and package fiber optic connector components
- Operate fiber router and complete over-molding process as needed
- Support prototype and NPI builds
- Measure components using calipers, gages, or measuring devices
- Complete operational paperwork for traceability
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment
- Demonstrate cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly
- Terminate various standard and new fiber optic termini
- Perform IL and RL testing of cable assemblies
- Perform EFG and IPC checks on single and multi-fiber termini
- Operate equipment with E-Stop and Soft Stop, identify and resolve issues
- Assist in estimations of process step time durations
- Assist in setting up new manufacturing processes
- Identify process changes to improve efficiencies
- Communicate within team atmosphere for customer satisfaction
- Train new and existing team members on products, processes, and procedures
- Perform advanced assembly processes for fiber optic products
- Derive measurements from drawings
- Inspect work using quality standards, instructions, and prints
- Work in clean room environment wearing gown, booties, hair net, gloves, glasses, and shoes
- Available for overtime to support production goals
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience required
- Minimum 2 years fiber optic manufacturing experience required
- SAP Manufacturing and ISO 9001 experience preferred
- Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading preferred
- Experience using Oscilloscope, DMM, Variable Power Supplies required
- Excel skills to record and analyze data
- Some post high school technical courses preferred
- Familiarity of AutoCAD or similar program
- Ability to move 50 pounds and operate machinery
- Proficiency in written English instructions
