Job Description
The motorhand handles rig maintenance, focusing on generators and pumps to prevent downtime in drilling operations. They monitor equipment through rounds, solving problems proactively for efficient performance. This role supports mechanics and supervises floor operations during rig setups.

Motorhands perform rounds listening for issues, anticipate problems, and implement fixes including fueling transfers complying with regulations. They assist with repairs, direct floorhands during rig up/down, operate forklifts, and provide relief on drill floors. Interactions include problem-solving with rig managers, lifting heavy items, bending, and working long tours while responsive to instructions.
The position requires 3 months Nabors floorhand experience or 6 months Motorhand elsewhere, completing training and handling respiratory devices. Rotational 7/7 or 14/14 days on/off, including holidays. Must lift 115 lbs, walk 4 hours minimum on various surfaces. Nabors offers fair employment, committed to diversity.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on generators, engines, compressors
- Conduct rounds to look, listen, feel for equipment issues
- Anticipate problems and implement corrective actions
- Analyze problems and problem solve resolutions
- Perform fuel and oil transfers safely
- Assist Mechanic with major repairs
- Supervise and direct Floorhands, Derrickhand during procedures
- Provide relief on drill floor
- Operate forklift for equipment handling
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months experience as a Floorhand for Nabors or 6 months as Motorhand elsewhere
- Ability to successfully complete Motorhand training
- Ability to wear respiratory protective devices
- Ability to perform Floorhand duties when needed
- Reliable transportation to/from rig
