Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer Full Time Mid-Level $80,000 - $120,000
Richmond, Virginia, United States

Job Description

Qualdoc engages an Electrical Engineer to design circuits and select components for power distribution equipment, developing BOMs and schematics for systems like switchboards in commercial applications. This engineering role integrates devices and supports certifications, directly enhancing reliability of electrical infrastructure for industrial users.

Qualdoc provides engineering services for power systems, focusing on technical design in hybrid or remote setups for clients needing specialized electrical solutions in Virginia and beyond.

Engineers perform product-level design with analog circuits, thermals, and hardware interconnections, create specifications for protection systems, draw power circuits in AutoCAD, and troubleshoot subsystems. They use oscilloscopes and network analyzers for testing, interfacing with NRTL partners for UL and CSA standards, and submitting documentation. One challenge is managing sustaining engineering for legacy systems, involving problem-solving in three-phase power situations under deadlines.

Salary ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 in a contract-to-hire role at Richmond, VA, with hybrid or remote options and full-time hours. Schedules are flexible for collaborative work. Benefits encompass professional development through laboratory experience and certification support in electrical safety.
