Manufacturing facilities improve uptime through timely crane repairs and maintenance, ensuring heavy equipment lifts smoothly without interruptions. This role installs wiring, assembles components, and troubleshoots 480VAC systems for better productivity in industrial settings.

Technicians perform preventative maintenance on overhead cranes, consult clients on repairs, generate sales leads during calls, document work in service reports using software, start-up new crane installations involving PLC programming and Variable Frequency Drives. They work at heights using PPE including hard hats and harnesses, operate fleet vehicles provided by the company, and troubleshoot AC/DC motors with 2-year experience. Large-scale projects may require delayed overtime handling up to 50 lbs lifting. Interactions include on-site manager coordination; one constraint is balancing independent site work with variable shift demands.

Compensation includes health insurance plans like Cigna and Kaiser, plus 401K matching at 6% employee contribution. Positions operate in Jacksonville, Florida with potential travel and overnight stays. Schedules run Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts with call or overtime availability. Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, modernizations on electric overhead traveling cranes
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety issues
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns
  • Generate sales leads during service calls
  • Accurately and neatly document service reports
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Perform new crane wiring, assembly, installation, start-up
  • Travel as required

Requirements

  • A.A. degree or equivalent vocational training
  • 2-year hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of AC/DC theory
  • Troubleshooting 480VAC 3 phase motor control systems
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Pass drug-screen and background check
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to safety
  • Experience in Variable Frequency Drives preferred
  • PLC programming preferred
  • Crane maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to lift, climb, move up to 50 lbs
