Job Description
This role evaluates and monitors neonatal patients in Level III NICU and nurseries with physician consultation. Infants receive coordinated care for critical conditions in perinatal centers. Practitioners employ physical assessments, diagnostic reviews, and treatment plans using vitals and EHR.
Regional Neonatal Associates recruits from University Physicians' Association for Level III NICU roles. The organization covers Knoxville area with 5000 deliveries yearly in East Tennessee. Collaboration includes dedicated staff for research and education.
Practitioners schedule tests like ultrasounds, transport infants via ambulances, and review notes for continuity. They communicate findings in charts, maintaining privacy protocols. Shifts alternate 12 or 24 hours, available weekends for coverage. One challenge is integrating EHR data from multiple sources quickly.
Full-time role with health benefits, retirement, malpractice coverage, CME. Located in Knoxville; travel for transports. Licensure in Tennessee required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Physicians by making appropriate treatment plan
- Assess health conditions and collect patient data
- Document findings and actions in the medical record
- Schedule testing, procedures and medical measures
- Maintain effective communication skills
- Maintain continuity of patient care
- Review labs, diagnostics, and testing/notes
- Transport of critically ill Neonates
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow standards and practices of medicine
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Licensure and Certification to be in good standing with the State Board
- NRP certified
