This role drives sales in territories including Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, boosting course profitability via weekly reporting and action plans targeting superintendents and club presidents.
Wesco Turf Inc. has served the golf, grounds, irrigation market since 1987, expanding in 2022 with Hector Turf acquisition. They provide used equipment worldwide, partnering exclusively with Toro, Club Car, Bernhard, Salsco, and Watertronics across Florida and southern Georgia locations like Sarasota, Deerfield Beach, Lake Mary, Jacksonville.
Managers handle sales of $12-15 million annually, prepare quotations on Toro products, present to committees using company laptops, develop annual plans with budget controls, coordinate with Technical Representatives ordering demo equipment, and travel 50% including transportation of borrowed tractors. They submit expenses weekly, adhere to Toro sales training, and build relationships with architects and vendors. A challenge is managing competing priorities like stakeholder meetings and high-travel schedules across export regions.
Base salary ranges $75,000-$90,000 annually plus company-wide bonuses up to 30% of salary. Positions operate in export territories with no hybrid arrangements. Travel requires overnight stays 50% with vehicle reimbursement. Responsibilities
- Manage sales of commercial golf equipment, irrigation, parts, financing, protection plans
- Establish relationships with course superintendents, presidents, directors, managers, assistants, committee members, superintendents, equipment managers, spray technicians
- Establish relationships with contractors, irrigation designers, vendors, architects
- Achieve annual sales budget
- Manage key account relationships in golf industry
- Develop business plan and sales strategy
- Penetrate competitive accounts
- Complete weekly activity reports and expense reports
- Provide timely, accurate pricing
- Control expenses within budget
Requirements
- Excellent selling and customer service skills
- Ability to present to groups
- Good understanding of sales process
- Annual Toro Sales Percipio Training maintenance
- SCPS Certification within first year
- College degree or minimum 5 years experience in related field
- Previous outside sales experience
- Turf equipment or agronomy experience preferred
- Good communication skills in written and verbal English
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
- Valid passport
- Florida residency or relocation within 90 days
- Tactful and professional demeanor
