Activities include scoping evaluation portfolios, upholding rigor in signals, adapting frameworks for new domains, and providing feedback on releases. Team members lead analyses and offer feedback within Waymo.
Compensation ranges from $281,000 to $356,000 USD based on factors like education and skills. The hybrid role reports to a DS Lead and includes discretionary bonuses, equity, and broad benefits. Locations span US sites with flexibility.

Requirements
- Degree in quantitative field like Statistics Mathematics Physics
- PhD and 7+ years or 9+ years experience
- Experience leading in data science
- Expertise in advanced statistical methods
- Familiarity with ML systems/models
- Knowledge of Python R SQL libraries
- PhD preferred
- Track record driving projects for value
- Experience in Autonomous Driving or Ride Hailing preferred
- Knowledge of large-scale evaluation frameworks
