Registered Behavior Technician - Center-Based

Mental & Behavioral Health Counselor Full Time Senior From $48,000
Tempe, Arizona, United States

Job Description

Children with autism spectrum disorder benefit from ABA therapy that enhances developmental skills like language, communication, social behaviors, and academic readiness through one-to-one sessions with Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Therapists support skill acquisition by breaking down tasks into steps, using intensive methods to help children function better in daily settings. This role addresses behavior reduction protocols to promote safety and progress in homes, schools, and communities.

Centria Autism, via Life Skills Autism Academy, provides center-based ABA Therapy programs for young children on the autism spectrum. The academy focuses on early, high-intensity interventions using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis techniques. Clients attend full-time sessions Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, lasting 8.5 hours daily. The organization emphasizes individualized programs developed by expert clinicians to unlock potential in affected youth.

Technicians deliver direct care in individual and group formats, combining intensive teaching with natural environment approaches. They adhere to protocols for skill building and behavior management outlined in BCBA/BC treatment plans. Tasks include recording client behavior data on mobile devices, training parents on strategies, ensuring timely documentation, and updating families on progress. Technicians handle crisis situations, use safe procedures, and organize therapy spaces equipped with specific materials. The job demands physical abilities such as lifting 50 pounds, frequent floor positioning, and rapid responses for child protection.

Pay ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, negotiable based on experience, education, and skills. Full-time work happens center-based on weekdays. Benefits cover medical, dental, vision plans, paid time off, 401K, tuition discounts, and practicum hours for BCBA candidates. Extra advantages include retail discounts via Benefit Hub, Employee Assistance for counseling, early pay access through Rain, and paths for impacting lives of special needs kids.
