This position supports environmental compliance by analyzing waste samples to identify chemical properties and ensure safe disposal. Results from these analyses help industries manage hazardous materials effectively, protecting public health and ecosystems.

Technicians perform chemical and physical analyses using laboratory instrumentation, calibrate equipment, and document results in run logs and calibration records. They manage supplies, dispose of waste per regulatory standards, and work under senior staff supervision with team-oriented interactions. A constraint is lifting up to 50 lbs frequently in a 4-10 hour shift requiring bending and climbing in a lab with PPE.

Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $24.00 per hour. Full-time 40-hour weeks with 4x10-hour shifts in Clive, Utah, and less than 10% travel. Benefits include professional development and a comprehensive package aligned with pay transparency laws.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic chemical and physical analyses of samples
  • Calibrate, operate, and utilize basic laboratory instrumentation
  • Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Accurately complete all required documentation
  • Ensure laboratory work meets QA/QC guidelines
  • Manage laboratory supplies including inventory control
  • Properly manage and dispose of waste
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Work under supervision of senior laboratory staff
  • Review laboratory SOPs annually
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • 0-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • DOT training
  • 24-hour or 40-hour OSHA training with annual refresher
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Well-developed ability to perform medium physical activity
