Job Description

Guiding infant care at Ohana Child Development Center with Montessori and RIE techniques fosters cognitive development and family support in Bandwidth environments. This role observes behaviors, prepares environments, and communicates progress, providing stimulating programming that respects individual differences and cultural diversity for children ages 4 months to 5 years.

Ohana Child Development Center offers Montessori/RIE-based programming for Bandwidth employees' families, located in Raleigh, North Carolina headquarters, emphasizing respectful, cognitively stimulating care and continuous feedback.

Work involves coordinating with lead guide for environment planning, managing physical care like diapering and toileting, following procedures and guidelines, supervising safely, observing for documentation, maintaining clean spaces, preparing parent reports on care, modeling prosocial behavior with discipline, building relationships, meeting with teachers, conducting developmental reports and conferences, communicating with staff, projecting professional image, updating trainings, applying new strategies, and attending meetings.

Location at Bandwidth Raleigh headquarters, with conditions including lifting up to 60 pounds, navigating terrain in weather, during normal child center hours. Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with lead guide to plan and prepare environment using Montessori/RIE principles
  • Managing physical care including diapering and toileting
  • Ensure daily care following procedures and licensing
  • Ensure visual supervision and child safety
  • Observing and documenting observations regularly
  • Preparing and maintaining environment based on needs
  • Maintaining safe, clean organized classroom
  • Provides daily reports to parents on diapering, sleeping, eating
  • Models appropriate pro social behavior and redirects appropriately
  • Form relationships with families, children, co-teachers respectful of differences
  • Meets regularly with co teachers on observations, design, planning, challenges
  • Provides developmental reports to parents and conducts conferences
  • Communicates important information to co teachers
  • Maintain professional self-image and project Ohana/Bandwidth values
  • Keep up with required training hours & certifications
  • Be open to applying new teaching strategies
  • Attend faculty meetings regularly

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years working in early childhood program, preferably infants
  • Knowledge of child development, Montessori/RIE techniques
  • Skilled in observation and documentation, communication skills
