Job Description

POET Plant Technicians operate processing equipment in bioprocessing facilities, performing routine maintenance and basic repairs on automated systems. They follow SOPs for plant start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching. Technicians collect quality control samples, enter data into PI, and make adjustments for optimization. Documentation of activities ensures continuous operation.

Technicians maintain DCS systems and troubleshoot basic electrical issues. They assist in preventive maintenance for plant equipment. Interactions involve notifying management of concerns and championing team culture. Tools include forklifts, power washers, and hand tools. A challenge includes working 12-hour shifts rotating every 6 weeks, including weekends and holidays, in extreme temperatures from -20 to 100 degrees.

Competitive pay with shift premiums. Location varies by plant site. 12-hour shifts days 7 AM-7 PM and nights 7 PM-7 AM every 6 weeks. Responsibilities

  • Operate all plant processing equipment
  • Perform routine basic maintenance and repairs
  • Operate DCS
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Follow procedures for start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching
  • Maintain accurate logs
  • Collect and test quality control samples
  • Interpret QA/QC results and make adjustments
  • Assist in preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Notify management of concerns
  • Foster culture of safe behavior
  • Maintain cleanliness via sanitation schedule

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in production environment preferred for Technician I, required for higher levels
  • Working knowledge in math, reading, and mechanical reasoning
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Maximo preferred
  • Organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to embrace change
  • Knowledge of bioprocessing operations
  • Basics of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Pass drug screen and physical
