Responsibilities
- Conduct materials research including 3D printing
- Perform FEA and CFD analyses
- Develop test methodologies and verification equipment
- Apply knowledge to engineering challenges
- Communicate with internal and external resources
- Develop 3D CAD models for testing, simulations, fixtures
- Develop digital and physical models to verify concepts
- Perform analysis to optimize designs and methods
- Develop and assemble test apparatus
- Collect data, reduce it, and generate graphics
- Support creation of test plans and reports
- Fabricate, evaluate, and test prototypes
- Write engineering reports
- Support product improvement via development
- Perform tasks per ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures
Requirements
- Associate or BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in technical role
- Proficient in oscilloscope, DMM, benchtop power supplies
- Comfortable with hands-on work in lab environment (assembly, testing, 3D printing)
- Strong SolidWorks skills for models, FEA, CFD, simulations
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project skills
- Knowledge of LabVIEW and Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk
- Ability to perform testing for airflow, resistance, work of breathing
- Ability to read engineering drawings, understand drafting practices
