Job Description
This position operates tooling and equipment to produce assemblies that meet daily output and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. It resolves production issues by moving components to rework areas, directly supporting efficient factory operations. The role contributes to maintaining workplace safety through emergency evacuation adherence, helping prevent disruptions on the shop floor.
Dakkota produces automotive components in a focused operation. The company follows a Business Operating System to manage quality, equipment maintenance, and team collaboration. Its processes emphasize preventive actions and nonconformance management to ensure consistent manufacturing output.
Work includes operating production tools while monitoring for quality deviations, maintaining equipment integrity, and documenting activities. Operators interact with fellow workers to promote teamwork, communicate with supervisors across shifts, and complete required paperwork. A physical challenge involves lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for 8 hours, with occasional climbing, carrying, pulling, gripping, grasping, and reaching.
Compensation is based on experience in production roles. Work occurs on the 1st shift with standard factory hours. Responsibilities
- Operate production tooling and equipment to achieve production and quality goals and standards
- Assist in maintaining Business Operating System integrity and alert management to quality system issues
- Maintain integrity of tooling and equipment necessary to perform work
- Disposition and move suspect assemblies or components to Non-Conforming or assembly rework area
- Work in a manner that promotes teamwork among fellow workers
- Communicate effectively with direct supervision on all aspects of job performance, including across shifts
- Accurately complete all paperwork associated with the job assignment
- Document all activities as required
- Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety
- Advise Department Manager of situations posing significant risk to program, product assurance, facilities, or employee safety
- Initiate actions to prevent nonconformance relating to product, process, and systems
- Identify and record problems relating to product, process, or system
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels and verify implementation
- Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until deficiency is corrected
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Good written and mathematical skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Possesses color and/or appearance testing approval where applicable
- Familiar with quality specifications and documentation in an automotive environment a plus
