Job Description
This role builds and paints sets for theater productions while installing lighting and sound equipment, directly supporting performances and events. The position serves students in the Theater Department by preparing physical elements that bring scripts to life on stage. Technicians use hammers, saws, drills, and paintbrushes to construct platforms and backdrops from wood and fabric.

Work occurs in a shop with dust, noise, and temperature variations, requiring lifting 20 pounds and wear protective gear. Collaboration happens with directors, actors, and faculty during rehearsals and performances.
Pay starts at $15.97 per hour with flexible schedules of 6-10 hours weekly, adjusted around production calendars. Work-study students qualify for this position; no health benefits offered. Minnesota Sick and Safe Time law provides paid leave. Located in Minneapolis, roles include evenings and weekends for events.
