Job Description
Material handlers manage the shipping, receiving, warehousing, and staging of merchandise in a distribution center, including unloading, loading, and organizing cartons to facilitate e-commerce operations. This supports retail stores by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of apparel products to customers nationwide and internationally.
American Eagle Outfitters runs stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, and ships worldwide through websites, with licensees in over 30 countries. The brand specializes in high-quality apparel, intimates, activewear, accessories, and personal care items.
Workers sort, warehouse, stage, load, unload freight accurately, operate pallet jacks and mechanical equipment, replenish locations, pull and distribute in replenishment areas, and condense shelves efficiently. They follow safety protocols and interact with teams on quality standards. A challenge is the physical nature, standing 12 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing 60 feet, demanding endurance and certification in equipment.

Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment by keeping safety a top priority
- Sort, warehouse, stage, and load/unload cartons in an accurate, safe, and efficient manner
- Unload inbound freight/load outbound freight
- Separate and load freight on unpacking lines
- Stage outbound freight in shipping
- Receive and warehouse incoming merchandise into module racks and floor locations
- Pull merchandise from racks or move merchandise to open areas for pulling and distribution in replenishment department
- Replenish and condense merchandise into most effective locations for order pulling in replenishment department
- Operate manual and/or mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner and maintain proper certifications
- Ensure production and quality standards are met
- Be open to performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or some high school
- Adaptable to change by working within different departments
- Ability to maintain an excellent attendance and work record
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to operate manual and automated pallet jack equipment
