Floater technicians provide support across multiple locations for Ironstate Properties, addressing appliance repairs like oven door hinges in various apartments. They handle carpentry tasks such as replacing cabinet hinges in kitchens. Plumbing fixes involve sealing faucets to stop drips. Electrical work includes swapping out light switches in hallways. HVAC maintenance covers thermostat calibrations for consistent temperatures.
Ironstate Properties builds residential luxury units throughout Northern New Jersey, handling full management from planning to tenant satisfaction.
Technicians perform safety inspections on fire alarms every quarter, documenting findings in binders. Install new washers by leveling them on pads. Troubleshoot kitchen equipment like refrigerators, checking compressor amps. Collaborate during renovations, painting walls with brushes. Repair shop equipment such as mowers for grounds. Maintain proficiency with power drills and saws. Respond to floating assignments between properties via schedule apps. Assist in snow removal by salting walkways. Adhere to uniform codes, practicing lockout procedures for safety.
Full-time pay $22-$25 hourly in Jersey City, NJ. Shifts require driving between sites, with commuter benefits provided. Includes weekends and holidays for coverage. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Address basic repairs including fixing broken locks and filling gaps in walls
- Report any issues to the maintenance manager
- Install appliances and equipment as needed
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems such as ventilation
- Ensure functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms
- Collaborate with colleagues and professionals during renovation projects
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building systems including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, HVAC
- Demonstrate knowledge in use and maintenance of tools for facility and ground maintenance
- Respond promptly to residents' requests as assigned
- Perform carpentry work and assist with snow removal when necessary
- Adhere to applicable codes, regulations, agencies, company directives
- Practice safe work habits
- Adhere to Uniform Dress Code on duty and maintain neat appearance outside working hours
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant technical certification preferred
- 1-3 years experience as Maintenance Technician or related field
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance maintenance, snow removal
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents and staff
- US work authorization required
