Job Description
Cadre Hospice appoints an Associate Medical Director to certify terminal illnesses and oversee medical care components, coordinating with physicians to alleviate symptoms for patients nearing end of life. This physician role ensures timely documentation and IDT consultations, solving gaps in palliative care that directly comfort families during final stages.

Responsibilities involve performing eligibility assessments, conducting certifications and recertifications, including Face-to-Face visits, consulting with attending physicians for symptom relief, and participating in IDT meetings. Physicians use medical licenses for prescriptions, submit documentation accurately, and coordinate care in interdisciplinary settings. One challenge is maintaining 24/7 availability as the medical lead, requiring expertise in palliative care to handle complex cases without restrictions on prescribing authority.
Compensation is competitive, based on experience, in a role requiring Ohio medical license. Positions may allow remote work with occasional on-site presence at branches. Responsibilities
- Eligibility assessments, certifications and recertifications including F2Fs
- Reviews and certifies patients’ medical eligibility
- Consultation/Coordination with attending physician as needed
- Consultation with interdisciplinary team (IDT)
- Completes and submits all documentation timely and accurately
Requirements
- Doctor of medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school required
- Valid state medical license with prescriptive authority for the state of Ohio, without restrictions, required
- One-year of experience with hospice and palliative care required
